Suzuki e-Access vs Honda Activa e: compared: Price, range, features

India’s electric two-wheeler space is witnessing a new phase, with established Japanese manufacturers finally stepping into the EV game. Honda and Suzuki, long known for their petrol-powered scooters, have now launched electric versions of their best-known models. Honda has already launched the Activa e:, while Suzuki has recently revealed the prices of the e-Access. Here’s a closer look at how the Suzuki e-Access and Honda Activa e: compare on price, range and features.

Suzuki e-Access vs Honda Activa e: Battery and range

The biggest difference between the two scooters lies in their battery strategy. The Honda Activa e: uses a dual swappable battery setup, with two 1.5 kWh lithium-ion batteries paired to a 6 kW electric motor. This motor produces 22 Nm of torque and allows the scooter to reach a top speed of 80 kmph. Honda claims a riding range of 102 km. However, instead of home charging, the Activa e: relies on Honda’s e:SWAP battery stations, where riders can replace drained batteries with charged ones in a matter of minutes.Suzuki, meanwhile, has taken a more conventional approach with the e-Access. It comes with a fixed 3.07 kWh LFP battery that delivers a certified range of 95 km. The electric motor produces 4.1 kW of power and 15 Nm of torque, with a top speed of 71 kmph. Charging flexibility is one of the e-Access’ key strengths. Using a portable charger, a full charge takes around 6 hours and 42 minutes at home, while a DC fast charger can top it up completely in just 2 hours and 12 minutes.
