Ajay Devgn’s ‘De De Pyaar De 2’, which is a sequel to the first part released in 2019, has been putting up a steady, though not spectacular show at the box office. The film opened to approximately Rs 8.75 crore, and while its first Saturday and Sunday numbers reflected an upward trend, many within the trade expected a sharper spike fuelled by stronger audience chatter. Going by the current trend and the way it has slow down, it is less likely that the film will even touch the Rs 100 crore mark in India, which is not good considering the fact that this was a known romcom franchise. The movie wrapped up its first week with Rs 51.1 crore. Moving into the second weekend, it recorded Rs 2.25 crore on Friday, followed by Rs 4 crore on Saturday and Rs 4.50 crore on Sunday. These day 9 and 10 earnings enabled the sequel to surpass the opening-weekend tallies of both 120 Bahadur and Masti 4. As is typical, Monday saw a dip with Rs 1.50 crore, after which Tuesday nudged up slightly to Rs 1.75 crore. On Wednesday, the film slipped further to Rs 1.25 crore. On Thursday, day 14, it has made Rs 1.25 crore, taking its domestic total to around Rs 67.60 crore.
