As if the hurdles with the band weren’t enough, Arnold had his own share of struggles, especially health-wise. In fact, the toughest blow came last year. In May 2025, Arnold shared that he had Stage 4 clear cell renal cell carcinoma, a rare, aggressive kidney cancer that had already spread to his lungs. He went public with the news in a heartfelt video online, staying honest about what he was facing but not letting go of hope.
Sure, Arnold leaned on his faith and asked for prayers, saying “It’s Not My Time” was more than just a song to him; rather, it was a promise. But Arnold’s condition was so serious that his diagnosis forced the band to cancel their 2025 tour.
Almost a year later, on February 7, 2026, Arnold died at home, with his wife Jennifer and family close by.
