The first look of ‘Spider-Noir’ is finally out and it offers fans a striking double debut of Nicolas Cage’s upcoming turn as Spider-Man in the new series. Sharing the first official stills on their social media page, the makers presented fans with both colour and black-and-white stills that reveal Cage as Ben Reilly, an ageing, private investigator who once operated as the city’s masked vigilante. Set in 1930s New York, the stills feature the superhero amid shadowy nightclubs, skyscrapers and alleyways of Manhattan. “You’re seeing double for a reason,” read the official post that added, “‘Spider-Noir’ is coming soon in both Authentic Black & White and True-Hue Full Color.”

About ‘Spider-Noir’
‘Spider-Noir’ is a live-action adaptation of Marvel’s Spider-Man Noir comics and follows an ageing, down-on-his-luck detective who must reckon with his former life as a superhero while navigating a city steeped in corruption and danger. The series will feature Cage as The Spider, a detective superhero who is distinct from the Marvel superhero, Peter Parker and also separate from the animated Spider-Verse saga. Co-showrunner Oren Uziel told Esquire that fans can expect a more jaded Spider-Man. “He’s already gone through the entire arc. He’s over it, and trying to move past it. But his past kind of keeps coming back to haunt him,” Uziel said.
‘Spider-Man’ characters return
The series also introduces noir-era reimaginings of journalist Robbie Robertson played by Lamorne Morris, while Li Jun Li plays Cat Hardy, aka Black Cat, aka Felicia Hardy. Other familiar characters from the franchise feature Sandman, played by Jack Huston and Silvermane, played by Brendan Gleeson.
‘Spider-Noir’ release date
While there is no release date as yet, Prime Video confirmed that the series will debut this spring, with each episode released simultaneously in classic black-and-white and in colour.
