Veteran screenwriter Salim Khan, credited for writing celebrated Hindi films such as ‘Sholay’, ‘Deewar’, and ‘Don’ with Javed Akhtar, was admitted to the ICU of Lilavati Hospital in Bandra on Tuesday. The father of Salman Khan has reportedly undergone surgery and is now on ventilator support. Anil Sharma took to his X account to share a picture of a newspaper cutout that reported the news about Salim Khan’s hospitalization. Along with the post, he wrote, “Salim Khan saab ki sehat ke baare mein sunkar chinta hui. Dua karta hoon ki woh jald se jald swasth ho kar ghar laut aayein. Unka kalam hamare cinema ki pehchaan hai. Bhagwan unhe lambi aur sehatmand zindagi dein (I was worried to hear about Salim Khan saab’s health. I pray that he recovers soon and returns home at the earliest. His pen is the identity of our cinema. May God grant him a long and healthy life).”

The hospital’s management will be issuing a statement at 11 am on Wednesday (today) about the veteran screenwriter’s health. After Salim Khan was admitted to the hospital by his family doctor, Salman Khan, Alvira Khan, son-in-law Atul Agnihotri, Arpita Khan Sharma with husband Aayush Sharma, and Arbaaz Khan arrived at the hospital to pay him a visit.The superstar looked visibly disturbed as he left the hospital late in the night. Celebs like Javed Akhtar and Sanjay Dutt also paid a visit to the hospital. Meanwhile, as per the Indian Express report, the veteran screenwriter has undergone surgery and has been put on ventilator support.
