Sohum Shah‘s ‘Tumbbad 2’ is in the works. While the buzz around the film is high, a new report will add one more layer of excitement among the audience. Reportedly, the makers have roped in an international technical team to work on the project. Let’s learn more about it.
International technicians on board for ‘Tumbbad 2’
According to the Bollywood Hungama report, a Los Angeles-based concept artist and creature designer, Simon Lee, and prosthetic designer Shaune Harrison have come on board the project.For those unaware, Simon Lee has worked on several international movies like ‘Pacific Rim’ and ‘Godzilla vs Kong’. According to the report, the makers roped him in to work on the creature design of ‘Tumbbad 2’ and overall visual development. On the other hand, Shaune Harrison has worked as a prosthetic designer on massive projects like the ‘Harry Potter’ film franchise. He will be working on the detailing of the prosthetics and character makeup work in the movie.The report further stated that the film team wants to enhance the visual aspects of the film franchise. Meanwhile, the makers are yet to confirm these new additions officially.
Akshaye Khanna and Nawazuddin Siddiqui are in a race to bag the role of the antagonist
Meanwhile, according to the Hindustan Times report, the two names that are being considered to play the role of an antagonist are Akshaye Khanna and Nawazuddin Siddiqui. As per the report, the makers want to introduce an antagonist who is not only a menace but also deeply layered.

‘Tumbbad’ was released in the year 2018. Though it didn’t work in theaters, the movie received massive appreciation and love from the audience after it arrived on OTT platforms. It features Sohum Shah in the lead role of Vinayak Rao. The makers re-released the film in September 2024, and it went on to earn over Rs 30 crore at that time.Directed by Rahi Anil Barve, the movie was released in theaters on October 12, 2018.
