Ranveer Singh and wife, Deepika Padukone made a rare appearance at a recent event in Mumbai, just days after they received an extortion threat. Looking calm and collectedon their day out, the star couple made an appearance at an event to show their for dad, Prakash Padukone, who was invited to be a guest speaker.

Ranveer and Deepika make public appearance amid extortion threat

As per social media posts, Deepika and Ranveer, joined by mom Anju Bhavnani, were seen smiling away from their front-row seats, listening intently to the session. In one image, Ranveer was seen applauding enthusiastically while Deepika blushed and her mother-in-law looked on with a smile on her face. Reacting to the candid shot of Deepika and Anju, fans wrote, “We all deserve a Saas who’ll look at us the way Anju ji looks at Deepu.”For their day out, the two kept their look elegant. While Ranveer rocked a suit and a white tee, Deepika opted for a loose, summery white salwar suit.

Sonam Kapoor also attends event

Also spotted among the guests in the audience was the heavily pregnant Sonam Kapoor, who is expecting her second child. Dressed in an all-black outfit, she was also seen in her front-row seat at the event. After the talk, Deepika and Sonam were seen joining Prakash Padukone on stage with a few others for a round of photos.

Ranveer Singh extortion threat update

Meanwhile, as far as the extortion threat goes, IANS states that Ranveer was allegedly asked for Rs 10 crore through a voice note sent to his manager from an American number. The police have reportedly reached out to the concerned agency in the United States through official protocol to obtain details about the number. The report further adds that the Mumbai crime branch found that one of the Bishnoi gang’s close aides, Harry Boxer reportedly sent the voice note, and the same was allegedly verified. Police have not yet registered an FIR in the matter, but have initiated a preliminary inquiry.

‘Dhurandhar 2’ gears up for its release

While this is the couple’s first appearance, Ranveer has been spotted around town, shooting some retakes for his film ‘Dhurandhar 2’ which is slated to hit the big screen on March 19. The film, also starring R Madhavan, Akshaye Khanna, Sanjay Dutt, and Arjun Rampal will clash at the box office with the south film ‘Toxic’ that is also slated to hit screens on the same day.
