Maggie Gyllenhaal’s reimagining of ‘Frankenstein’ is titled ‘The Bride!’ which is all that people can talk about right now, thanks to Christian Bale. The star transforms himself into the Frankenstein monster, while the film focuses on Jessie Buckley, who transforms into his bride. While talking to Entertainment Weekly, the star was in excruciating pain as the makeup took the team almost 6 hours to apply. Bale endures everything for his character; however, even this was extremely challenging for him. While talking about the matter, he shared that sitting still for so long was turning him “insane.”
How did Christian Bale deal with everything?
Christian Bale had a unique way of dealing with the makeup and everything, and he revealed that almost 30 people joined in on the crazy exercise! He revealed that by the end of the makeup, he would ask the people around him to scream and howl like crazy.Calling it all a “great bonding experience,” the star further shared that, “Oh man, I’m telling you, the whole crew got involved by the end, because people would hear us screaming. We would open the doors, and gradually, a bit like the Bride’s revolution, a few people were going, ‘Can we do it too?’ And then by the end, there were like 30 people who would hear us and run to the makeup trailer to be a part of it and scream.”

‘The Bride!’ focuses on the bride of the Frankenstein monster. The film is directly inspired by the 1935 film ‘Bride of Frankenstein.’ It is set against the backdrop of the 1930s, Chicago, and is based on when the monster asks Dr. Euphronius for a favour. He shares that he wants a companion and asks the doctor to create a bride for him. Together, with the help of science and something else in between, they give life back to a dead woman who remains unnamed, but is known as the bride. The film is set for release in theatres worldwide on March 6.
