The much-awaited trailer of ‘Aadu 3’ has finally been unveiled and it marks the return of Jayasurya and his iconic gang. While fans were expecting a full-blown time-travel narrative, the trailer has now raised a new question: was the story really about time travel or simply a humorous recreation of characters from the old timeline?
Trailer opens with epic fantasy tone
The trailer begins on a grand scale. A period-era king, played by Jayasurya, announces in a deep tone: “It emerged from an unknown realm beyond the heavens. Such is the legend bestowed upon by our ancestors.” Here, his character appears to reference the legendary Neelakoduveli’s origins. The visuals show a massive canvas, however, just as hopes rise for a pure time-travel plotline, the narrative shifts tone. We are brought back to familiar territory as Shaji Pappan, Dude, Shameer and other beloved characters return in classic comedic fashion. The sudden transition assures viewers that the heart of the film remains firmly in humour.
Official plot confirms multiple timelines
The biggest reveal arrived through a booking platform, shared via AB George’s Twitter page. The description reads: “Aadu 3 – is the third installment of the popular Aadu franchise. This time it is mounted as an epic fantasy since Shaji Pappan and Co. opens a Pandora’s box of reincarnations and multiple timelines leading to comic chaos of epic propotions.” This officially confirms that Aadu 3 will deal with several timelines.Early viewers are already comparing the concept to an ‘Avengers’-style multiverse, but with the unmistakable flavour of Midhun Manuel Thomas’ humour. The trailer’s concluding portions are mixed with the energetic sound tracks from Dude theme to Shaji Pappan theme which has a seperate fan base.
Release date locked for global premiere
Directed and written by Midhun Manuel Thomas, the film features a massive ensemble. The cast includes Jayasurya, Vijay Babu, Sunny Wayne, Vinayakan, Saiju Kurup, Dharmajan, Harikrishnan and Bhagath Manuel among others. The makers have confirmed that ‘Aadu 3’ will release worldwide on March 19, 2026.
Whether it leans more towards time travel or comic recreation, ‘Aadu 3’ promises a wild ride — fittingly teased with the tagline “One Last Ride.”
