Actor Yash is reportedly looking forward to the upcoming sequel ‘Dhurandhar’ starring Ranveer Singh.Earlier, Yash’s highly anticipated film ‘Toxic’ was scheduled to release on March 19, and the date coincided with the release of Dhurandhar, leading to speculation about a possible box office clash.
However, the makers of Toxic later announced that the film’s release had been postponed, and this decision sparked discussions among fans and industry watchers.
Some reports suggested that the delay may have been intended to avoid a clash with Dhurandhar 2. But the report mentioned that the actor has now clarified that there is no rivalry between the two projects.
Insider denies rivalry between the films
According to a report cited by Bollywood Hungama, a person close to Yash dismissed speculation about competition between the films and revealed that the actor actually enjoyed the earlier installment and is eager to watch the sequel.The report further added that Yash loved ‘Dhurandhar’ and is looking forward to Part 2. All the rivalry, anxiety, and competitiveness is created by outsiders desirous of juicing the so-called competition between the two films.”
Toxic release delay explained
The insider also addressed the reason behind the postponement of ‘Toxic.’ According to the publication, the delay is related to geopolitical developments in the Middle East rather than competition with ‘Dhurandhar 2.’“Now, Toxic has moved forward not for fear of competition. But for the escalated war situation in the Gulf and UAE, which ‘Dhurandhar 2’ needn’t fear at all. Part 2 will be banned in Muslim countries just like Part 1 was.” the report stated.
Reports about VFX and audio issues
Another report by Always Bollywood suggested that Yash was not satisfied with certain technical aspects of the film during an internal screening.According to the report, a quality check screening was held on March 4, and the screening was attended by Yash, director Geetu Mohandas, and several members of the film’s crew.The report claimed that the actor was concerned about the visual effects and audio quality in some key scenes. “An internal quality screening was held on March 4, attended by Yash, director Geetu Mohandas, and key crew members. During the screening, Yash was reportedly shocked by the poor VFX work and weak audio quality in several crucial scenes,” mentions the report.One example mentioned in the report involved the film’s first track, titled “Tabaahi.” The makers initially planned to release the song with a music video. However, the team reportedly decided to release only the audio version after being dissatisfied with the editing.
Star cast and release plans
‘Toxic’ is one of the most anticipated Indian films of 2026. The gangster action drama features a strong ensemble cast including Yash, Nayanthara, Kiara Advani, Tara Sutaria, Huma Qureshi, and Akshay Oberoi.The project is directed by Geetu Mohandas and is currently expected to release worldwide on June 4, 2026.
