According to the BBC India report, Ranveer Singh’s grandmother, Chand Burke, lived in a village in Punjab, in the undivided India, in the 1940s. Now, the same location is in present-day Pakistan.
As per the report, the Christian Burke family lived in the Punjab of undivided India. Samuel Martin Burke and his sister, Chand Burke, were part of this family. Samuel went on to become Pakistan’s ambassador to 11 countries, while Chand became a supporting actress in Hindi cinema. The village is now in Pakistan after partition. Chand Burke is the grandmother of ‘Dhurandhar’ star Ranveer Singh.

According to the report, Singh’s grandmom moved to Bombay (now Mumbai) after partition. She was popular in Hindi and Punjabi films. She worked in movies made in Lahore, Pakistan.
