Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt’s career has been on a roll! The star has been moving from one blockbuster to another. His latest turn in the Ranveer Singh-led ‘Dhurandhar: The Revenge’, has now put him on track to overtake Deepika Padukone as the Bollywood star with the most appearances in Rs 1,000 crore films.

With ‘Dhurandhar: The Revenge’ expected to join the elite club after crossing the Rs 300 crore mark in just Day 2, Dutt is expected to register his fourth Rs 1,000 crore film. The actor has previously featured in blockbuster films such as ‘KGF: Chapter 2’ and ‘Jawan’ in supporting roles. He was also part of the leading cast of ‘Dhurandhar’. Now, with ‘Dhurandhar: The Revenge’ off to a strong start at the box office, the film is widely expected to surpass the Rs 1,000 crore milestone during its theatrical run.
Padukone, on the other hand, has been part of three Rs 1,000 crore films as a leading lady, including ‘Pathaan’, ‘Jawan’, and ‘Kalki 2898 AD’.
Ranveer Singh to create new box office record
Meanwhile, ‘Dhurandhar: The Revenge’ is also set to make lead star Ranveer Singh, the fastest actors to deliver two Rs 1,000 crore films. He is likely to create the record in three months. Currently, Shah Rukh Khan holds the record of achieving back-to-back Rs 1,000 crore films with ‘Pathaan’ and ‘Jawan’ within a span of nine months. Actor Prabhas also has two such blockbusters to his credit with ‘Baahubali: The Conclusion’ and ‘Kalki 2898 AD’.So far, only nine Indian films have made it past the Rs 1,000 crore mark.
Sanjay Dutt’s work slate
On the work front, Dutt has a long list of films lined up in various stages of production. He is set to star in ‘Raja Shivaji’, ‘Dhamaal 4’, ‘Hera Pheri 3’, ‘Dus’, ‘7 Dog’, ‘Janmabhoomi’ and will also star in an untitled film with Shah Rukh Khan.
