As Dhurandhar: The Revenge continues its blockbuster run, one of the most talked-about moments from the film remains the violent sequence featuring Uzair Baloch, played by Danish Pandor. The scene, depicting the gruesome killing of gangster Arshad Pappu, has sparked conversations for its raw and gory portrayal. Opening up about filming it, Danish revealed that the real-life inspiration made it even more intense.

As Dhurandhar: The Revenge continues its blockbuster run, one of the most talked-about moments from the film remains the violent sequence featuring Uzair Baloch, played by Danish Pandor.The scene, depicting the gruesome killing of gangster Arshad Pappu, has sparked conversations for its raw and gory portrayal. Opening up about filming it, Danish revealed that the real-life inspiration made it even more intense.“That incident has actually happened in real life. When I first read about it, I was very terrified… even reading about it made me wonder how someone could do something like that,” he told Ent Live.He added, “But as an actor, when you work on a character, you give yourself fully to it. As you keep reading, you begin to understand how he would behave… When I read that scene, I was actually very excited to do it.”

‘I stayed in the moment’: Trusting instinct over monitor

Talking about his approach, Danish Pandor said he relied heavily on instinct while performing the sequence.“I did that scene by staying in the moment and in the situation. After every take, I would look towards Aditya Dhar, and if he gave a thumbs up, I wouldn’t even go to the monitor because I wanted my director to be extremely happy,” he shared.He also revealed that the team put in extensive effort to execute the scene, including improvisation. “A lot of hard work went into it… we also did quite a bit of improvisation. That’s how we went forward.”

Injury on set: ‘It got a bit serious’

The intense sequence also came at a physical cost. Danish shared that he injured his thumb while shooting the scene.“I hurt my thumb during the flow of the scene and was immediately rushed to the hospital. It took around two to two-and-a-half months to heal… it got a bit serious. It was my stupidity, in the heat of the moment I lost control a little,” he admitted.He added that the team was supportive and gave him time to recover.

A blockbuster run continues

Directed by Aditya Dhar, Dhurandhar: The Revenge stars Ranveer Singh alongside Arjun Rampal, Sanjay Dutt and R Madhavan.Released on March 19, the film has crossed Rs 500 crore net in India and is nearing the Rs 830 crore mark worldwide.
