Filmmaker Farah Khan took to social media on March 25 to pen a deeply personal and emotional birthday tribute to her long-time friend, Sunita Kapoor. Highlighting a bond that has spanned decades, Farah described the jewelry designer and wife of Anil Kapoor as her “BFF in sukh and dukh” (happiness and sorrow). In a series of heartwarming revelations, Farah shared how Sunita has been her constant support system—from sending food for Farah’s children when she’s traveling to holding her hand through life’s toughest “bad patches.”

In her note, Farah revealed a thoughtful gesture by Sunita Kapoor. Farah wrote, “I started out as @anilkapoor’s friend.. but down the years @kapoor.sunita took over as someone whose friendship i cherish. She’s the best friend one can have, ever giving, always there for you.. whether its to send food for my kids whn im out of town, or to find me house help.. to just holding my hand whn im going through a bad patch..”Khan further described Sunita as a rare and invaluable friend: “If u have Sunita as ur friend ur very lucky.. coz shes all heart! Im so happy iv earned this friendship coz it is hard earned.. happy birthday @kapoor.sunita u r very loved n appreciated by all who know you.” In another post, she added, “Happiest birthday @kapoor.sunita .. always the best friend in dukh n sukh.. my giver of advice & food.. i am lucky to have you as my friend.“

Sunita Kapoor is married to Bollywood star Anil Kapoor. The couple tied the knot in 1984 and are parents to Sonam Kapoor, Rhea Kapoor, and Harsh Varrdhan Kapoor. Sunita is a proud grandmother to Vayu Kapoor Ahuja. She is now set to welcome her second grandchild soon. Meanwhile, Sonam Kapoor announced her second pregnancy last year.
