In an interview with NDTV, Mukesh talked about casting actors for ‘Dhurandhar’. Chhabra added that initially, convincing Akshaye Khanna for the role of Rehmand Dakait in the movie was quite difficult. Now, for the unversed, the actor stays in Alibaug, Maharashtra, and came to Mumbai for the script narration. He also praised Aditya Dhar for his sharp focus, avoiding confusion from multiple opinions.Chhabra said, “Even getting two heroes together is difficult today, but here we brought together so many stars, and correctly.”The casting director added, “He came all the way, heard the story, and said it’s fantastic.” Chhabra recalled, “We sent him the script, and the same day he read it and called me back saying, ‘It’s so good; I’m doing it.’” He added that the actors’ roles got them “really excited.”Mukesh Chhabra gave credit to director Aditya Dhar for backing his decisions.
