A 41-year-old woman found dead at a residence in Milwaukee, Wisconsin had been stabbed 107 times and was likely dead for several days before her body was found, according to a search warrant affidavit.The victim, identified as Janie Pendleton, was found on March 13 at a home near 37th Street and Townsend Avenue. Police initially believed she had suffered around 20 stab wounds, but an autopsy later revealed the extent of the attack.Investigators also noted a “distinct shoe pattern” on her right forearm, suggesting she may have been stomped on during the assault.
Investigation underway, no arrests yet
According to WISN 12 News, Milwaukee police obtained a search warrant for the home of a man known to Pendleton, who allegedly gave inconsistent statements to investigators. However, authorities said no evidence was recovered during the search.Police have not publicly named any suspects, and no arrests have been made so far.Pendleton, a mother, has been remembered by family on social media, with her daughter posting a photo captioned “Forever us” following her death.Authorities have launched a homicide investigation and are urging anyone with information to come forward. Milwaukee police have asked the public to contact them directly or submit anonymous tips through Crime Stoppers.The case remains under active investigation as officials work to determine the circumstances surrounding Pendleton’s death.
