Mumbai Indians have several overseas players to choose from this season. The squad includes Quinton de Kock, Ryan Rickelton, Sherfane Rutherford, Corbin Bosch, Mitchell Santner, Will Jacks, AM Ghazanfar and Trent Boult.

Boult is expected to play an important role with Jasprit Bumrah in the pace attack. However, the team will be without Will Jacks and Mitchell Santner for the opening match, as both are yet to join the squad.

Head coach Mahela Jayawardene confirmed that the two players have been given extra time for personal reasons and will join soon.

This means Mumbai Indians will have to adjust their combination for the first game. Even without them, the team still has enough options to field a balanced XI and compete strongly against Kolkata Knight Riders.
