Actress Poonam Dhillon also remembered Lata Mangeshkar and her association with Hindi cinema. She spoke about the legendary singer while attending ‘Surila Safar-30: An Evening of Bollywood Melodies’ at Tagore Theatre.Speaking to IANS at the event, Poonam Dhillon looked back at her early years in the film industry. She recalled how Lata Mangeshkar’s voice had been part of several films in her career. Poonam Dhillon said Lata Mangeshkar had sung in almost all the films she had worked on. She also spoke about the importance of the singer’s contribution to Hindi film music.

Poonam Dhillon said Lata Mangeshkar holds a special place in the hearts of people associated with Hindi cinema. She also expressed happiness that the legendary singer was being remembered at the musical event.“Lata ji is very dear to all of us. Without her, the music of Hindi films would have been incomplete. It is a great thing that she is being honoured and remembered here. And that too in my lovely Tagore Theatre. It is a great joy for me,” Poonam said.Poonam Dhillon further spoke about the number of films in which she had songs sung by Lata Mangeshkar. “I have done hundreds of films. Except for one or two films, she has sung in all of them. All of her songs are one of the best. They are very beautiful songs,” she said.
