Days after Marvel Studios brought ‘Avengers: Endgame’ back to cinemas with ‘Avengers: Endgame: Encore’, rumours are rife that the recent box office hit ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’, will also be lining up for a re-release.‘Endgame: Encore’, the re-release of the 2019 blockbuster, topped the US box office over the weekend, earning USD 26 million and outperforming several new releases. The re-release came with four additional scenes, linking the film to the upcoming December 18 release of ‘Avengers: Doomsday’.Now, as ‘Spider-Man’ gears up for its OTT debut next week, The Hollywood Reporter states that the film is set to return to cinemas, with Sony Pictures reportedly working on a theatrical rerelease of the superhero blockbuster featuring previously unseen footage. The proposed rerelease is said to feature scenes with Rosario Dawson that reportedly didn’t make the final cut, besides other footage.

Rosario Dawson’s deleted scene could return

During a fan event in July, Dawson revealed that she had filmed a scene for ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ as Claire Temple, previously seen in ‘Daredevil’, ‘Jessica Jones’, ‘Luke Cage’, ‘Iron Fist’ and ‘The Defenders’. However, the scene was ultimately removed from the theatrical cut.“My character is somewhere in that same universe, and I really love that,” Dawson said at the time. “I hope I get to be Claire again.”

‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ to pass USD 1 billion?

Directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ stars Tom Holland, Zendaya, Sadie Sink and Jon Bernthal. The Marvel Studios production emerged as the highest-grossing film ever at the domestic box office, with its North American earnings crossing the USD 950 million mark.The film is now approaching the USD 1 billion mark at the North American box office.
