Ajay Devgn is back as Vijay Salgaonkar with ‘Drishyam 3: The Conclusion’, the final chapter of the popular Hindi thriller franchise. Directed by Abhishek Pathak, the film arrived in theatres on Friday, October 2, amid considerable buzz and strong audience interest. Early box-office estimates suggest that the film has made a decent start.According to Sacnilk, till 2pm on Friday, the film has made Rs 28.13 crore net in India from 7431 shows.The film had already built significant momentum before its theatrical release, with advance bookings showing strong demand. Across seven days currently open for booking, ‘Drishyam 3’ has registered Rs 60.17 crore gross in India, including blocked seats. Excluding the blocked seats, the advance gross stands at Rs 49.29 crore. The film has sold around 18.02 lakh tickets across 51,570 shows.Friday has contributed the biggest share to the advance bookings, with Rs 31.65 crore gross collected so far. Without blocked seats, the figure stands at Rs 27.92 crore from around 8.82 lakh tickets across 16,125 shows.The film is also seeing healthy advance interest for the rest of the opening weekend. Saturday bookings currently stand at Rs 14.77 crore, while Sunday has recorded Rs 11 crore. The advance figures for the following weekdays are Rs 93.87 lakh for Monday, Rs 91.88 lakh for Tuesday and Rs 86.37 lakh for Wednesday.Meanwhile, the October 1 premiere recorded Rs 3.18 lakh from 84 shows before closing. For Wednesday, October 7, the film has so far sold 52,606 tickets across 1,898 shows, with advance occupancy at 12%.‘Drishyam 3: The Conclusion’ marks the third and final instalment of the Hindi franchise, with Ajay Devgn reprising his much-loved role as Vijay Salgaonkar. While the original ‘Drishyam’ was adapted from the Malayalam film of the same name, the Hindi third instalment takes a different route compared to the Malayalam franchise.Early reactions to the film have highlighted its performances, suspense and climax. With the weekend still ahead and advance bookings showing substantial interest, the film’s performance over the next few days will determine how strongly it sustains its theatrical run.
