Speaking at the ‘Dorothy’ success meet, Mysskin did not hold back while recalling his experience of watching ‘Retro’. “Before watching Dorothy, I watched Karthi’s film. Honestly, I felt ‘Retro’ was a ‘mokka’ film. That long-take dance sequence especially did not work for me. I have no problem saying that,” he said. Mysskin added that his assistants usually praise Karthik Subbaraj’s films, but his own experience with ‘Retro’ was different. “I normally go to the theatre to pray to God, but while watching this film, I felt like I was praying to God,” he quipped.

He praised them for choosing to portray characters who challenge conventional ideas of masculinity and heroism. Mysskin calls ‘Dorothy’ better than all his films

Mysskin had already placed ‘Dorothy’ among the best films he has watched in the last three decades. He had said that ‘Kadaisi Vivasayi’ and ‘Kottukkaali’ were among the finest films he had seen and that he would now add ‘Dorothy’ to that list. Taking his praise even further, he said, “I feel ‘Dorothy’ is better than all the films I have made.”Directed by Karthik Subbaraj, the film stars Keerthy Suresh, Sananth and Rishikanth, with legendary composer Ilaiyaraaja providing the music. Mysskin’s latest comments have added further buzz to the film’s growing appreciation.
