Rajpal Yadav feels that the celebration of Navratri, when the whole country honours the goddess, must reach beyond the walls of the temple. The actor has appealed to people to bring the festival’s values into daily life by ensuring that girls can chase their goals without carrying the worry of their safety. In his view, paying tribute to Shakti is not just about prayers and fasting; it is about creating a society where every daughter feels safe enough to dream, rise and shape her own future.
Rajpal Yadav asks if every daughter is truly safe
In his latest social media post, Rajpal drew attention to the reality of women’s safety in the country. Sharing a note in Hindi on his Instagram stories, the actor pointed out how devotees worship the goddess for nine days of Navratri and, on Ashtami and Navami, treat young girls as her manifestations, seeking their blessings. But when incidents related to women’s safety come to light, he said, a troubling question arises. He wrote, “For nine days during Navratri, we worship the divine feminine power. On Ashtami and Navami, we consider young girls to be manifestations of the Goddess, worship them, and seek their blessings. But when incidents concerning women’s safety come to light, a question arises in our minds: In a country where we consider young girls to be goddesses, is every daughter truly safe?.”Speaking as a father of three daughters, the actor went on to make an emotional plea: devotion to the goddess should not stop at the temple, and the women in our daily lives deserve the same respect. “As a father of daughters, this question touches my heart even more deeply. Every father wishes for his daughter to pursue her dreams without fear, live life on her own terms, and be treated with respect wherever she goes. The worship of Goddess Durga becomes truly meaningful only when we recognize her strength not just in temples, but also through the respect and safety we ensure for every woman,” he added.
Rajpal Yadav urges a society where women feel safe every day
Rajpal urged everyone to work towards a society where women are not forced to fight for their safety every single day. “This Navratri, let us not limit ourselves to worshipping the Goddess. Let us also make a commitment to teach our daughters not just to live courageously, but to strive to give them a world where they do not have to fight for their safety every single day. Because Kanya Pujan is not merely a ritual; it is also a reminder of our responsibility to uphold every daughter’s dignity and rights”, the post concluded.
