In an effort to safeguard the integrity of the highly anticipated ‘Awarapan’ sequel, security measures have been ramped up on set in Rajasthan after unauthorized glimpses of Emraan Hashmi’s fresh appearance hit the internet.

Security has been stepped up on the sets of the upcoming sequel to the cult favorite ‘Awarapan’ after unauthorized photos and videos from the shoot surfaced online. The creators who started with controlled content delivery now face an emergency because they need to safeguard their work until they complete their Rajasthan production and block public access to their content.

Leaks trigger swift action

According to Mid-Day, the production team reacted quickly after leaked visuals revealed Emraan Hashmi’s altered look from the film. The unit received multiple social media posts which showed local-recorded footage of the incident through short videos and images.

“The look reveal was never meant to come out this early,” an insider tells Mid-Day. “After the photos were leaked, access had to be tightened. Phones are now restricted on set, and movement around the location is being closely monitored and certain areas have been cordoned off. Multiple terrace-sequence videos were leaked by locals.”The film is being shot in and around Sambhar, Rajasthan. The makers implemented enhanced security measures at their filming sites and established restricted zones to stop any more confidential footage from being exposed after the leak occurred. The sequel brings Emraan Hashmi back as Shivam Pandit, alongside Disha Patani, with Shabana Azmi expected to play the villain. The studio established a ban after unauthorized content leaks revealed the lead actor’s appearance to the public.

Music rumors add pressure

The film faces current challenges because people online doubt the Pakistani music composer who supposedly worked on its soundtrack. “The team wants the content to communicate its message instead of creating public disagreements. Music is integral to the film and Pritam had done the original score. The producers are mindful of the law of the land and are baffled by the rumours,” the source adds.To stay on track, the unit has accelerated the Rajasthan schedule and increased official support on the ground. “The production team works at a quicker speed because they need to finish their work before the upcoming week starts while police forces from the local area provide security protection.
