J&K Police raid JeI-linked locations across Kashmir Valley

SRINAGAR: J&K Police on Thursday conducted a series of raids across Kashmir Valley at multiple locations allegedly linked to Jamaat-e-Islami (JeI), banned under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act. According to a police statement, the searches were carried out “in the backdrop of the recent surge in terrorist activities and to curb the tendency of radicalisation among youth”.While raiding several locations in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district, the search teams inspected multiple premises associated with JeI-linked suspects, police stated, while adding that “no incriminating material was seized from any of the locations”. “These searches are part of J&K police’s continuous efforts to dismantle radical networks, prevent anti-national activities, and strengthen peace and stability in the district,” the police statement said.
