Sunny Deol, Diljit Dosanjh, Varun Dhawan, and Ahan Shetty starrer ‘Border 2’ has released in theatres today. Suniel Shetty, who was a part of the original Border, penned a heartfelt note for his son Ahan as the film released in theatres. Meanwhile, in a conversation on Peeping Moon’s Benchmark Conversations podcast, Suniel Shetty shared his views about nepotism and why he doesn’t like the term. He said that there’s no such thing as nepotism, and that every parent will want their child to succeed. He also said that nepotism doesn’t equate to spoiled kids, contrary to popular belief. He then cited Varun Dhawan as an example, noting that the actor often speaks more about Ahan Shetty’s role than his own. While speaking with Peeping Moon, Suniel Shetty said, “I don’t like the word nepotism. There’s no such thing as nepotism. Mere bete ko log nepo kid kahenge, lekin har baap yahi chahta hai ki uska baccha achha kare aur aage badhe. (People may call my son a nepo kid, but every father wants his child to do well and move forward in life). Somewhere down the line, it’s a way of life. It’s how generations continue. I got the opportunity to run a restaurant because my father used to run one. When you are privileged, you do get opportunities, but it depends on individuals how they make use of them.”Suniel Shetty also spoke about his son’s recently released film Border 2, and how the film has given Ahan the right team. According to him, Sunny Deol was like a mentor to Ahan and looked after him like his own son. “Diljit and Ahan are very close today, and he absolutely loves him. Varun khud ke role ke baare mein kam aur Ahan ke role ke baare mein zyada baat karta hai (Varun talks less about his own role and more about Ahan’s role). That says a lot about so-called nepo kids. Everyone thinks nepotism means spoiled kids, but that’s not true. Today, it’s Varun who is speaking so highly about Ahan everywhere,” said Suniel Shetty.Meanwhile, Ahan Shetty recently took to Instagram to pen a heartfelt note for the film’s cast and makers. He not only called Sunny Deol his father figure but also appreciated Varun Dhawan for the love that the actor gave him as an older brother.
