Samara Tijori is receiving strong praise for her performance in Amazon Prime Video’s ‘Daldal’, in which she portrays the dual characters of Anita and Anant Acharya. Her turn as a chilling villain, posing as a journalist, has sparked a lot of buzz. Tijori says the audience response has hit her on a personal level and left her feeling more assured about the work she is doing as an actor. She described the growing recognition as both emotional and motivating.
Hair transformation for ‘Daldal’ role and character preparation
According to Mid-Day, Tijori demonstrated a strong commitment while preparing for her role in ‘Daldal’. The actor revealed that she cut her hair for the role instead of relying on styling tricks. She explained her decision, saying, “When I went in for the look test, we tried a wig. I remember being like, ‘This is not really making me feel anything.’ When the wind was flowing, the hair was not moving. It wasn’t looking real.” She further shared her determination to fully embrace the character. “I thought to myself, ‘This is a part that I have, and I’m going to give 150 per cent to the performance on an emotional and physical level.’ As soon as I cut my hair, it was helpful to be Anant. It helped me detach, and it was certainly a good decision that I made.”
Tijori also revealed that she once considered a career in criminology. She believes her interest in understanding criminal behavior played a role in shaping her performance. Speaking about audience reactions, she said, “It is overwhelming; my heart is full.”
Bond with co-stars and Deepak Tijori ’s advice before climax shoot
Tijori developed a strong connection with her co-stars during filming. She spoke about working with Aditya Rawal, saying, “I love him to bits. We immediately clicked as friends. We watched a couple of films together because we had no reference point and had to enact the vulnerability.” She also reflected on sharing screen space with Bhumi Pednekar. Tijori recalled previously working as an assistant director on ‘Bhoot Part One: The Haunted Ship’, which featured Pednekar. She said, “I definitely was intimidated because I have looked up to her for a very long time. I met her the first time at the reading. And she literally hugged me and said, ‘I’m so happy that we are doing this together.’”Tijori also credited her father, actor Deepak Tijori, for guiding her during a difficult filming schedule. She said she had to shoot the climax earlier than planned and felt extremely nervous. She recalled his advice, saying, “He has always told me to be patient because it’s not always hunky-dory. I saw good and bad days with my father, and what I took from that is resilience. He emphasises being ready because when something comes, you shouldn’t be slacking.”Looking ahead, Tijori hopes to explore lighter characters. She said, “For a change, I would like to play happier roles. If I can access these parts of myself and express them as an actor, there is nothing more fulfilling than that. But I am definitely in a space where I want to see where this takes me. It’s not like some 50 things are flooding me. It’s very soon.”Samara Tijori comes from a home shaped by cinema and fashion, and she has started carving out her space on screen. Born on October 17, 1995, the Hindi film and web series actor, daughter of actor Deepak Tijori and designer Shivani Tijori, has steadily added to her credits with ‘Bob Biswas’ (2021), ‘Masoom’ (2022), and ‘Daldal’ (2026).
