In January last year, the Chhote Pandit of Bollywood had received death threats from the neighboring country. In an official statement, he had confirmed the same and added that the matter was reported to the Cybercrime Cell.
Rajpal Yadav addresses death threats from Pakistan
In an audio statement in January 2025, Rajpal Yadav addressed the death threats. The actor expressed that he doesn’t want to comment on the matter. He shared that the matter was reported to the Cybercrime Cell, and hence, “It’s not my job to talk about this incident when I don’t know anything about it.”Rajpal Yadav had added, “I am an actor, and in acting, I try to entertain people of all ages, young and old, through my work. I don’t want to say anything more than this. Whatever needs to be said about this matter, the agencies are capable of providing the information. I have shared the details I was aware of.”Reportedly, Rajpal Yadav’s wife had lodged a complaint in the Amboli Police Station under Section 351(3) of the IPC against unknown individuals. As per the report, he had received the threat through an email on December 14, 2024.Apart from Yadav, the email was also sent to celebs like Kapil Sharma, Sugandha Mishra, and Remo D’Souza. As per the report, the user name of the sender was ‘Bishnu,’ and the email address was ‘Don99284’.Reportedly, a section of the email read, “We are watching your recent actions closely. We believe it is necessary to bring a sensitive matter to your attention. This is not a public stunt or an attempt to harass you. We request that you take this message seriously and maintain confidentiality.”
Rajpal Yadav’s jail sentence
According to the reports, the actor has been sentenced to Tihar Jail in Delhi over nonpayment of dues amounting to Rs 9 crore. The actor had taken a loan from a firm for his directorial debut; however, the movie failed at the box office. As a result, the actor couldn’t pay back the amount. Over the years, the interest piled up and almost reached Rs 9 crore.On the work front, he will next feature in ‘Welcome To The Jungle’, and ‘Bhooth Bangla’.
