Yash’s teaser from his film ‘Toxic: A Fairytale For Grown-Ups’ is facing another problem again. This time, a Christian body has raised strong concerns as per the reports.Reports from Mid Day says that the group called the National Christian Federation have filed a formal complaint saying the teaser shows things that hurt the feelings of the Christian community. The group reportedly said the teaser has scenes that show Christianity in a bad way.
Group says Saint Michael is shown in a hurtful way
In the complaint, the group pointed out scenes that show Saint Michael the Archangel in wrong and disrespectful. They said this is not acceptable because he is a holy and respected figure. The group also said some visuals are “objectionable and obscene” and that these visuals appear near angels. According to them this makes the scenes even more offensive.
Demand removal of scenes and content online
Because of these issues, the National Christian Federation has asked the makers to remove the scenes. They also asked for the same scenes to be removed from YouTube and from other online spaces. The complaint was sent to the Film Chamber of Commerce. It was also sent to the Chief Secretary, the Home Secretary, and the Central Board of Film Certification. The president of the group, Pradeep Kumar, filed the complaint.
Public apology and warn about legal action
Pradeep Kumar also asked the makers to say sorry to the Christian community. He said the team should give a public apology. The group also said they will take legal steps if the scenes are not removed. They said they will not stay quiet if the content stays online.
Earlier complaint came from a political party’s women’s wing
This is not the first time the teaser has brought trouble. In January, soon after the teaser came out on Yash’s birthday, another complaint was filed.Reportedly a political party’s women’s wing filed a complaint with the Karnataka State Women’s Commission. They said the teaser shows “obscene visuals.” They said these visuals can harm young people and also said children and minors might watch it online. Now, with the new complaint from the Christian group, the film faces more pressure.‘Toxic’ is directed by the Malayalam filmmaker Geethu Mohandas.
