Yash has no plans to move the release of his highly anticipated upcoming film, ‘Toxic’, according to industry insiders. The film will hit theatres worldwide on March 19, as announced. There have been rumours that the Yash starrer ‘Toxic: A Fairy-Tale for Grown-Ups’ is facing trouble with its overseas distribution, and so might postpone the release. However, The Hollywood Reporter India has now reported that industry insiders have dismissed the chatter as baseless. The makers reportedly have no plans to shift the release date, and it will clash with Ranveer Singh’s highly anticipated film ‘Dhurandhar: The Revenge’.
“There is absolutely no truth to the rumours about Toxic being postponed. The film is firmly on track for its March 19 release, and there has been no change whatsoever to the schedule. Promotional activities are strategically lined up, and the team is executing everything as planned,” the magazine has reported. The film has reportedly closed multiple record-setting distribution deals across key territories. “These landmark deals reflect the extraordinary confidence the trade and exhibitors have in the film. Such massive commitments simply would not be made if the release were uncertain.”
What should you know about ‘Toxic’?
Directed by Geetu Mohandas, ‘Toxic’ features Yash in the lead role with actors, Nayanthara, Kiara Advani, Tara Sutaria, Rukmini Vasanth, and Huma Qureshi in pivotal roles. The film has been shot simultaneously in Kannada and English, with dubbed versions planned in multiple Indian languages. The makers unveiled a special teaser earlier this year, which ran into trouble over its intimate scenes. Meanwhile, ‘Toxic’ features Yash as Raya. The actor also co-writes the script with Geetu Mohandas. Talking about the actor’s dedication, Geetu Mohandas earlier said, “A rare fusion of talent and superstardom is a formidable combination. I am immensely proud of Yash, not just for the performance of Raya the world is yet to witness, but for the discipline and heart he brought to our film every single day,” she said. This is not just a role he performed; it is a chapter he carved into his own artistic legacy. He questioned, challenged, explored, and surrendered, always in service of the story when truth meets art.”Then filmmaker further added, “Through our collaboration, I discovered not just the depths of storytelling but also a producer who supported me throughout and made this journey profoundly meaningful. In the whirlwind of his fame, it’s easy to overlook the depth beneath the surface. My wish is that his future directors will dare to explore the vast potential of brilliance he brings to his craft. Our journey together was built on faith, long conversations, and a shared belief in something bigger than either of us. I feel grateful for the trust, artistry, and above all the friendship we share. He will stay with me long after the cameras stops rolling.”
