The wrap comes just three months after production began in November 2025. Johnson had previously announced the start of filming on the new Jumanji instalment by sharing an image from the first table read in Los Angeles. “Officially kicking off production of ‘JUMANJI’, at our cast table read in Los Angeles – where we will film as well. What a massive, fun, heartfelt adventure. Feels emotionally appropriate for our beloved ‘JUMANJI’ franchise to end on this beautiful grace note of our final film.““Amazing to get the whole gang back together, and our jaws were hurting from laughing so hard. We all talked about how much we’ve missed this kinda joy and fun. Let’s make a good one,” he wrote.
Dwayne reveals ‘Jumanji’ easter egg
Johnson also revealed a sentimental Easter egg, that a pair of dice worn as a necklace by his character, Dr. Smolder Bravestone, are from the original 1995 Jumanji, serving as a tribute to the late Robin Williams. The ‘Jumanji’ franchise, adapted from Chris Van Allsburg’s 1981 picture book, became a classic with the release of the first film by Sony in 1995. Two decades later, the reboot ‘Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle’, reimagined the magical board game as a video game adventure. The 2017 film grossed USD 962.5 million and was followed by ‘Jumanji: The Next Level’, which was also a hit and earned USD 800 million.
