‘Hoppers’ review and early reactions
Social media platform X (formerly Twitter) has been flooded with praise, as viewers applaud the film’s humor, heart, and kinetic energy. Many are calling it one of Pixar’s funniest originals in years. Film journalist Erik Davis wrote, “Pixar’s #Hoppers 🦫 is cute, kinetic and honestly one of the studio’s funniest films yet. It’s a clever, big-hearted love letter to the animal kingdom that feels comfortingly familiar while still delivering a fresh perspective. It’s the kind of film that reminds you why we show up for Pixar in the first place.”Davis also singled out the voice cast, adding, “Jon Hamm’s Mayor Jerry is hilarious and maybe my favorite character in the film. I also got a big kick out of Bobby Moynihan’s King George, and greatly enjoyed the Marty McFly-esque vibes I got from Piper Curda’s Mabel. Big recommend from me!”Other viewers echoed similar sentiments. One fan wrote, “Never get bored watching these characters bounce off each other. The comedy lands, but the emotional beats hit just as hard. Such great chemistry all around. #Hoppers (sic).”The environmental theme resonated as well. A post read, “Got a chance to watch #Hoppers last night and I love a good animated story with real stakes 🌲 The way it blends laughs with a call for coexistence? So good (sic).”Another reaction stated, “Did not expect #Hoppers to go that wild in the third act. Totally chaotic but somehow still heartfelt. Pixar really swung for it (sic).” One viewer added, “Came for the beaver jokes, stayed for the tears. #Hoppers is funny, yes, but also surprisingly moving. That ending got me (sic).”
