After the Kerala High Court cleared the path for the release of ‘The Kerala Story 2: Goes Beyond’, the movie started screening on its scheduled release but late in the evening. The film managed to earn a decent amount from the first-day screenings. On the second day, it showcased growth in the box office number. Let’s take a look at it.

The Kamakhya Narayan Singh directorial witnessed a growth in numbers at the box office as compared to its first-day collection. According to the Sacnilk report, it collected Rs 0.75 on Day 1. Meanwhile, the film has raked in Rs 4.65 crore at the box office on its Day 2 in theaters. With that, the total earnings of the movie stand at Rs 5.40 crore.

Occupancy

As per the same report, ‘The Kerala Story 2: Goes Beyond’ witnessed an overall 12.20% Hindi occupancy on Saturday, February 28, 2026.

Controversy around ‘The Kerala Story 2’

Petitions were filed against ‘The Kerala Story 2’ after the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) granted a U/A 16+ certificate to the movie. Initially, a single-bench judge of the Kerala High Court stayed the release of the film, citing that it might cause law and order issues, along with disrupting harmony in society. The judge also criticized the Censor Board for granting a U/A certificate to the movie. However, the makers quickly appealed the decision. On the release day, the special session was conducted by a division bench consisting of three judges. They lifted the stay on the movie.
