In the last year, the entertainment industry lost quite a few stars. From ‘Home Alone’ star Catherine O’Hara to Gene Hackman, and many others. This year’s Actor Awards held a special in memoriam segment for all the stars that the entertainment industry has lost recently.
Many stars honoured at the Actor Awards
One of the stars that was awarded and honoured tonight at the award show included ‘Dawson’s Creek’ star Van Der Beek. The idol passed away earlier this month in February. He was 48 at the time of his passing and had been battling colorectal cancer. He was followed by ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ star Eric Dane, who had been diagnosed with ALS 10 months before his passing on February 19.Clips and videos of Catherine O’Hara also played on screen to honour her memory and the work that she had done over the past years. O’Hara also posthumously won the title for Best Actor Award for Female Actor in a Comedy Series. She was awarded for her role and work in the comedy series ‘The Studio.’ She starred alongside Seth Rogen in the show and played the role of Patty Leigh, a former studio head. The series follows on as she becomes Rogen’s character’s mentor. He also accepted the award on her behalf and stated, “I, obviously, have been reflecting on the time I was fortunate enough to spend with her, working with her, and something that I’ve just been marveling at over the last few weeks was really her ability to be generous and kind, while never ever minimizing her own ability to contribute to the work that we were doing.”Other than them, Diane Keaton, Gene Hackman, and Rob Reiner were also amongst the stars who had been remembered at the Actor Awards tonight.
