Directed by Praveen Saravanan, Mustafa Mustafa revolves around a crisis in the life of a television anchor.The film follows Karthik, a TV presenter who is about to get married. His life suddenly turns complicated when an embarrassing video involving him surfaces on the internet.The unexpected leak threatens both his personal relationship and his professional reputation. Desperate to fix the situation, Karthik turns to his close friend Vasu and a hacker named Chitti.Together, they attempt to stop the video from spreading online. Their efforts trigger a series of chaotic situations, which drive the film’s comedic narrative.

Our ETimes review reads, “The romantic beats feel imported wholesale from a decade-old playbook, complete with cringy setups that the film plays straight. Aishwarya Dutta shows up in the compromising video subplot as an extended cameo pitched entirely at the glamour quotient, and leaves no impression beyond that. Director Praveen Saravanan keeps things moving at a reasonable pace, which at least means the film doesn’t overstay its welcome at just under two hours. The script still runs on a single idea with no escalation and no real stakes, so the reasonable pace just gets you to the end faster. The comedy operates in the narrowest possible lane: will Karthik get caught? He does. Then he doesn’t. Then he almost does again. That’s the whole film. It’s the kind of movie that feels like it started as a weekend project and got finished out of obligation rather than conviction. Painless if you’re in the room.
