‘Dhurandhar’ has been the talk of the town ever since the film released and several members of the industry have appreciated it for its content and box office performance. Now in a recent interview, Akshay Kumar opened up on the film as he spoke about how the taste of the audiences keep changing and accordingly how cinema has evolved with time. He further was also asked if he would have loved to be a part of such a film, or feels jealous or insecure when other actors get such movies. The actor said during a chat with Rajdeep Sardesai at the India Conclave Delhi 2026, See the film industry is like a circle; it keeps on changing after every two years, three years. Everything changes. The concept, our audience, they keep on changing what they want. Aaj Indian kha liya, kal Chinese kha li, parso Italian kha liya. Everything changes after every two years.”He further added, “Take Dhurandhar, for example. It’s a full-fledged action film. The whole film is about action and bloodshed. People have loved it, they have lapped it up and really enjoyed it. And then there’s a hero like Ranveer Singh, who performs intense action scenes, a very chest-thumping, high-energy kind of action. He carries the image of a complete ‘angry young man’. So everything keeps changing. Now it’s the time for horror comedies. People really like horror comedies, Stree was a big hit. Everything keeps changing, and we never really know what audiences will like next.”The ‘Bhooth Bangla’ actor was questioned if he wished to be a part of the Lyari gang and that he would suit the film since it was filled with action. Reacting to it, the ‘Khiladi’ actor said, “I don’t think Aditya thought that, so I didn’t get it.” When asked if he feels insecure or has any regret, Akshay responded, “Many a times, when I meet Ranveer, he tells me, ‘woh kya film ki thi, I wish I had done it. This happens. Koi film woh karna chahta hai aur koi main. Hum log 15-20 actors hai aur Hindustan mein 180 filmein banti hai toh sabko kaam milta hai. So, everyone had roles. Regret as in you feel you wish you had done this film but jalan nahi hoti (there’s no jealousy).” The actor slammed the whole ‘rat race’ mentality further and said, “Number 1,2,3 can happen at Mahalaxmi race course where horses run. Is mentality se aap aapka santulan kho dete hai and you end up doing something wrong. Paani ki Tarah rahiye. Aapke Jeevan mein acchi baat kariye, accha khaiye, peeye, zindagi aapki pyaari nikal jayegi.”
