The iHeartRadio Music Awards have been a big night for Alex Warren. The singer-songwriter was honored as this year’s Breakthrough Artist. The big win deserved a great acceptance speech, and Warren delivered. The 25-year-old ‘Fever Dream’ singer’s speech left everyone emotional as he dedicated his award to his late parents.
Alex Warren could not believe the feat
“I really hope I don’t cuss,” the “Ordinary” singer joked. “To think I was in the crowd right over there about three years ago as a band watching this and now performing and standing on the stage is a strange feeling.”Warren then joked that he was “not a popular kid growing up” and would “probably have been voted most likely to not be a Breakthrough Artist by the entire school and probably some of the faculty members.”
Alex Warren’s inspirational words to fans
“The reason I’m telling you this is I hope that if there’s anyone at home watching this right now that feels like they’re not good enough or that no one believes in them, I do,” Warren continued. “Truly, I do. You’re going to be something amazing.”He then went on to thank his close ones, including his wife, Kouvr Annon. “Thanks to my amazing wife who I still would be homeless if it wasn’t for you,” Warren said, before thanking his team and his record label, Atlantic Records.
Alex Warren’s emotional tribute to parents
“And lastly to God and my parents. Truly, I hope, I know you’re watching down. Can I sing a lyric loud enough for you to hear it, and I love you so, so much and thank you so much. You are the reason I am the man I have become who I am. This is for you.”Warren was nominated for eight iHeartRadio Music Awards this year, tying with Bad Bunny and Sabrina Carpenter for the second-most nominations at this year’s awards show. The 25-year-old singer walked out with four awards.
