It is official, ‘Extraction 3’ is on track. The famed action and thriller franchise is finally getting its third part. As per the latest reports, ‘Thor’ actor Chris Hemsworth is all set and ready to make his return as the lead character, Tyler Rake. Read ahead to know more about the upcoming project.
‘Extraction 3’ confirmed with Chris Hemsworth as lead
The actor has been leading the franchise since it was released all the way back in 2020 on OTT platforms. Now, as per the latest reports shared by Deadline, the 3rd installment is already underway. Just recently, Hemsworth officially closed a lucrative deal regarding the film with the host OTT platform.Other than him, director Sam Hargrave, who is also known for his work in ‘Matchbox: The Movie’, ‘Atomic Blonde’, ‘The King of Fighters’, and ‘Thor: Ragnarok’, is all set to return for the 3rd part as well. Actors Idris Elba and Golshifteh Farahani will also be reprising their roles as Alcott and Nik Khan, respectively.As of right now, only the deal has officially been confirmed to the public. The plot of the third film is still being kept under tight wraps to build suspense. While the project just got confirmed, famed director Hargrave had already been hinting at the return for quite some time.

The first installment of the film hit Netflix in 2020 and immediately became a massive hit. From reaching the top of the charts to gaining a large number of accolades, the film did well amongst the masses. The second film was an even bigger hit, even though there had not been any plans to make a second film. Hemsworth’s character Rake was also ‘brought back from the dead’ for the second film.The premise of the films is based on a popular graphic novel titled ‘Ciudad’ by Ande Parks.
