PEOPLE reported that according to the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner, Luci4 passed away as a result of fentanyl toxicity. Further, the manner of his death was listed as accidental.James Dear, aka Luci4, passed away on February 22, 2026, at a friend’s house, cited his granparents, accoding to TMZ. The report further added that the rapper was declared dead upon the arrival of the Los Angeles Fire Department around 11:40 a.m.Later on the same day, Luci4’S manager, Kayla G, confirmed the news. She shared on TikTok, “I am devastated to inform you that today, James, Luci4, Axxturel has passed away. He was truly a leader, a king, a musician, and a genius.”“There’s nobody like him, and there will never be. We all loved him dearly. Rest Easy,” she continued before adding, “Please allow family and friends privacy and patience during this difficult time.”
