When Shakira sang, “Don’t you see, this is perfection?”, she was talking about the recently released music video for ‘Dai Dai.’ The Queen of Latin Music danced along to the tunes of the official FIFA World Cup 2026 anthem, and it’s safe to say that the anthem is absolute mania. From Lionel Messi relentlessly showing off his field skills to the grandeur of touching the galaxy, the video encompasses greatness in every second. Here’s a closer look at Shakira and the FIFA World Cup 2026 anthem, ‘Dai Dai.’
‘Dai Dai’ begins with footballers’ cameos
The 49-year-old had appreciated the soldiers for choosing their own battles, but for her, music is certainly not one. The 4-minute video begins with renowned footballers, including Kylian Mbappe, Lionel Messi, Alphonso Davies, Erling Haaland, and Jamal Musiala, stating, “We are ready,” along with the adorable children. As Messi marks the beginning by firing the ball upwards with his kick, the Colombian singer-songwriter starts vocalising.
It’s all about perfection
Opulence is an understatement when it comes to Shakira. Standing on the shoulders of Mexico City’s iconic Angel of Independence, she smoothly transitions to dancing in the desert in her trademark costume. With an intricate beadwork section along the waves of her green dress, she keeps it casual, her luscious hair flowing, and a wide smile across her face.
Burma Boy’s rap to keep with
The African children take charge with energetic performances and groovy moves. Enters, Burma Boy with his jiggy rap to flawlessly combine with the ‘Waka Waka’ singer’s grounding vocal range. Furthermore, the singer traverses through a football field and on the planet in a galaxy (that too in heels around the stars). Dropping the names of the GOATs, she sings, “ Pelé, Maradona, Maldini, Romario, Cristiano, Ronaldo, El Pibe, Iniesta, Beckham y Kaká, Messi, Mbappé, Salah.” After a full-blown performance on the field, she ends the video with fireworks in the sky.
