‘Kattalan’ day 2 collections register major drop

According to Sacnilk estimates, ‘Kattalan’ earned Rs 1.60 crore net in India on Day 2. The latest figure marks a decline of 57.9 percent when compared to the opening day collection of Rs 3.80 crore.The film was screened in 3,582 shows across markets on its second day. Despite the drop, cumulative earnings have continued to move upward. ‘Kattalan’ has now collected Rs 5.40 crore in India net collections so far. The India gross collection currently stands at Rs 6.21 crore.

‘Kattalan’s occupancy numbers remain modest

Audience turnout across language versions remained on the lower side during Day 2. The Malayalam 2D version registered an overall occupancy of 13.16 percent.The Telugu version recorded 12.36 percent occupancy, while the Tamil version stood at 10.06 percent.Kerala delivered Rs 95 lakhs on Day 2 and remained the strongest region for the film. Andhra Pradesh-Telangana added Rs 35 lakhs, Karnataka collected Rs 10 lakhs and Tamil Nadu contributed Rs 9 lakhs. The rest of India collectively brought in Rs 35 lakhs.

Antony Varghese addresses online claims

‘Kattalan’ also found itself in discussion because of social media activity surrounding the film. Posts from a page operating under the name Antony Varghese Fans Club began circulating online and made claims about organized negative campaigns against the movie.Antony Varghese later clarified that the page had no connection with him or his official fan groups.“It has come to my attention that a fake Facebook page posting as my “fan page” is circulating posts and spreading false information. Please note that this page is completely unauthorized and has absolutely no affiliation with me or my actual fan community.
