Maisie Adam reflects on whirlwind wedding weekend as she returns to Soccer Aid 2026 ahead of anniversary milestone

Now 32, the comedian is celebrating a special occasion – by returning to the Soccer Aid pitch for a special charity game.According to the Daily Record, Maisie Adam returns to Soccer Aid 2026 as she prepares to celebrate her third wedding anniversary this year with her husband Michael Dobinson. The comedienne got married within 48 hours of her Soccer Aid match back in June 2023, exchanging vows with Dobinson just a day before taking to the pitch at Manchester United’s Old Trafford.

Maisie Adam’s whirlwind wedding experience

Maisie and Michael exchange their vows in a ceremony held in Brighton, with the newlyweds sharing a carousel of images from the celebration on Instagram. One shot shows them on the seafront by the old pier, another captures them being showered in confetti after walking down the aisle, while a third features the couple seated on deckchairs as Maisie holds her wedding bouquet in the air in celebration.The series of sweet wedding snaps is accompanied by the caption: “We did it.” Many stars rush to congratulate the pair, including fellow comic Katherine Ryan, Suzi Ruffell, Jamie Redknapp, and Izzy Christiansen.

The surreal 48 hours between wedding and Soccer Aid

Maisie previously tells her story of the unique timing to various outlets. “It was the day after my wedding, so I was hungover. For Soccer Aid, you go to the training camp on Thursday, Friday and Saturday—and I had to leave on Saturday to go get married! We got married in Brighton and then the next day, at 10 o’clock in the morning, a car comes to take you to Old Trafford.”“It was just such a surreal 48 hours because I got married and then was finding myself on a bus sat next to Nani (the Portuguese footballer) and across from Roberto Carlos and then on the other side there was Lee Mack. I just thought, ‘How have I ended up here?’” she recalls.At the time, Maisie had confirmed the news on ITV1’s Soccer Aid for Unicef, saying: “I’ve watched this as a fan for years and it’s a genuinely an honour to finally be part of it. I’ve been more nervous for this than I was the wedding.”

Maisie Adam returns for Soccer Aid 2026

Maisie shows off her fancy footwork once again as she joins the Celebrities to take on England for Soccer Aid 2026. The charity football match for children’s global charity Unicef takes place at the London Stadium, with kick-off at 6.30pm British Summer Time (BST) on Sunday, May 31.Some of the stars taking part include Lioness Jill Scott, Jermain Defoe, Jack Wilshere, Danny Dyer, Tom Hiddleston, and Netflix’s ‘Adolescence’ star Owen Cooper, who makes history by becoming Soccer Aid’s youngest player aged 16. The match also airs on ITV and ITVX for those unable to get tickets.Maisie Adam got engaged to Dobinson back in December 2021, announcing the news on social media before their whirlwind wedding celebration just months before her Soccer Aid debut.
