Prithviraj Sukumaran‘s physical makeover for his next film ‘Khalifa’ has become a major talking point among fans and now the actor has showered praise on Padma Shri Mammootty, describing the Malayalam superstar as the most flexible actor he has ever seen. The actor said Mammootty’s ability to completely transform into different characters continues to inspire him as a performer.

Mammootty completely becomes the character

As reported by Reporter website, speaking about the veteran actor’s performances, Prithviraj explained that Mammootty possesses a rare ability to disappear into a role. According to him, audiences never see the star first. Instead, they see the character. He said, “Mammookka is the most flexible actor I have ever seen. I’m not saying this because mentioning Lalettan’s or Mammookka’s name will get applause. Whenever you see Mammookka in a role, you genuinely feel that he has become that character. When you watch him as Achootty in ‘Amaram’, he looks like a real fisherman. When you see him as the District Collector in The King, that too feels completely believable. He is an actor who can completely immerse himself in a character. As an actor, I have always felt that he has an exceptional ability to physically transform and adapt to different roles quickly and effortlessly. That is something that has inspired me as well.”

Prithviraj Sukumaran on ‘I, Nobody

Meanwhile, Prithviraj is preparing for the release of ‘I, Nobody’, directed by Nizam Basheer.Explaining the film’s structure, he told in an event organised by Online Malayali Events, “As I said earlier, we cannot limit this movie to a singular genre. When I first heard the story, I felt like the genre was shifting every five minutes. It feels as though several genres we are familiar with have been presented through an unconventional style of narration.”

More than just an action film

Prithviraj also addressed the action elements in the film. While ‘I, Nobody’ features several large-scale sequences, he stressed that action is only one part of the overall experience. The actor revealed that considerable time and effort were invested in designing the stunt portions. He said, “There is a lot to the film. If I had to pick one aspect that I particularly enjoyed, it would be the drama. There is action as well, and we spent a considerable amount of time and resources on it. This is the first time I have spent so many shooting days working with stunt choreographer Yannick Ben. I believe this is also the longest he has worked on a Malayalam film. His entire team came from France, and we shot extensively in Thiruvananthapuram. However, despite having a lot of action, this is not an action film.”Directed by Nizam Basheer, ‘I, Nobody’ is scheduled to hit theatres on July 9.
