Abhay Deol calls Goa his home sweet home, with a prestigious glass mansion that connects to the serene landscape of the forest. Practising the mantra of “live life like you want,” the 50-year-old decorated the property with minimalistic aesthetics that matched his personality. Allowing the freedom of nestling in greenery instead of cement cities, the actor gave an out-of-the-box twist and a sense of freedom through the walls. Let’s take a glimpse at Abhay Deol’s mesmerising Goan glasshouse mansion!Prioritising clean air and peaceful winds, Abhay Deol lets his guard down at The Glass House in Assagao. Cycling around the house lawn, he introduced the residence to what he finds attractive and what his taste looks like during an interview with Asian Paints’ ‘Where the Heart Lies’ series. With a grand entry featuring greens climbing up the gates, the actor’s house has a very high ceiling. Keeping the palette brown and green, the residence has black granite and dark wood floors, grey bricks as the wall connecting to the rooms, and glass windows for the outdoor scenery. Adding a design to create an inviting space to entertain guests, he chose warm-coloured sofas and chairs around the living room. “A lot of freedom, a lot of nature, and green,” Abhay said about the aura of the house. The actor worked diligently to create a space free of tension and pretentious furniture. “I described it to my architects, saying, when I’m looking at the person in front of me, I don’t want to see the ceiling or want any windows,” he explained. With a charming swimming pool, the space adds a touch of serenity through blue colours on the walls in between the indoor green plants. For the kitchen area, Deol chose to create earthy tones with wooden shelves and complementary black tones.
