Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri Khan have often entertained fans with their candid anecdotes about married life. In an old appearance on director-choreographer Farah Khan‘s chat show Tere Mere Beach Mein, the superstar shared a hilarious story about how Gauri once tricked him into buying herself a handbag while he was recovering in hospital.During the conversation, Farah Khan complimented Shah Rukh, saying, “I know that you are a very generous husband and you have given a lot of gifts to Gauri.”Responding with a smile, Shah Rukh revealed that while he had gifted Gauri many things over the years, she would often exchange them for something she liked better.“Whenever I’ve gifted Gauri something, she has accepted it. But 99.9% of the time, she has returned it and bought something else instead,” he shared.Recalling one memorable incident, Shah Rukh said it happened while he was undergoing treatment in London after suffering a spine injury.“I had suffered a spine injury and had to stay in London for one-and-a-half to two months. I bought some T-shirts from a shop, but after wearing them, I felt they weren’t the right fit. Since I was in the hospital, I asked Gauri to return the T-shirts and buy cotton ones instead,” he recalled.However, when Gauri returned, she told him that the store had refused to take the T-shirts back.

‘Why does he need new clothes?’

The truth came out when some of Shah Rukh’s friends visited him in the hospital and mentioned that they had seen Gauri at the store exchanging the T-shirts.Instead of buying new clothes for her husband, she had bought herself a handbag.Laughing about the incident, Shah Rukh recalled Gauri’s justification, “He is in the hospital. Why does he need to wear new clothes?”The light-hearted story left both Farah Khan and the audience in splits, offering fans another glimpse into the couple’s playful relationship.

Shah Rukh Khan gears up for King

On the work front, Shah Rukh Khan will next be seen in Siddharth Anand’s King, marking his first on-screen collaboration with daughter Suhana Khan.The makers recently announced that the action entertainer will hit theatres on December 24, 2026, writing on social media, “#KING is Ready to ROAR on 24.12.2026 in Cinemas. #ItsKingTime #KingDateAnnouncement.”Apart from Shah Rukh and Suhana, King also stars Abhishek Bachchan, Deepika Padukone, Anil Kapoor, Jackie Shroff and Arshad Warsi in pivotal roles.
