As was expected, an intense bidding war took place in the IPL auction on Tuesday between three teams to take Australian all-rounder Cameron Green into their squadCapped batters came up for bidding in the first round. There were no marquee sets in a mini-auction. Australia all-rounder Cam Green also listed himself as a batter because of a manager’s stuff-up. He had confirmed that he’ll be available to bowl during the season. Along with Green, Devon Conway, Jake Fraser-McGurk, Sarfaraz Khan, David Miller and Prithvi Shaw figured in the first set.With the base price of Rs 2 crore, and registered as a batter, Green came up for bidding in the first round.Mumbai Indians opened the bid at Rs 2 crore, with only a purse of Rs 2.5 crore, followed by Rajasthan Royals. KKR then entered at Rs 2.8 crore. KKR-RR bidding war then went on till Rs 13.60 crore, when RR backed off.RR had a total purse of Rs 16.5 crore.Then entered the Chennai Super Kings with a bid of Rs 13.80 crore. The bidding war for Aussie all-rounder took place then between KKR and CSK, with neither team in the mood to back off. KKR had a total purse of Rs 64.30 crore, while CSK had Rs 43.40 crore.The bidding war went on till Rs 25.20 crore, when CSK backed off. The Australian all-rounder went to KKR then for Rs 25.20 crore, and possibly became the most expensive player of this year’s auction.
