'Inke beech mein ladkiyon ka.' : Ahmed Khan reacts to criticism over Disha Patani, Jacqueline Fernandez’s screen time in ‘Welcome To The Jungle’
Ahmed Khan defended the limited screen time of Disha Patani and Jacqueline Fernandez in ‘Welcome to the Jungle’, saying the comedy was built around stars like Paresh Rawal and Johnny Lever, leaving little room for extra dialogues. He insisted a heroine needs good scenes, not more lines. The film also stars Akshay Kumar.

Ahmed Khan, the director of ‘Welcome to the Jungle’, has responded to the criticism regarding the limited screen time and dialogue roles of Disha Patani and Jacqueline Fernandez in the film. He clarified that it was always meant to be a comedy fronted by some of Bollywood’s most loved comic actors. Since the cast included several major comedy stars, he added, it naturally became tough to distribute screen time equally among everyone.

Ahmed Khan on why comedy kings got more focus

In an interview with Hindustan Times, Ahmed stated, “When you have such solid actors like Paresh Rawal, Johnny Lever, Rajpal Yadav, Shreyas, Aftab, Arshad, Akshay; you know they are kings of comedy, inke beech mein ladkiyon ka dialogue daal ke kya hoga.”He further mentioned that everyone on board was well aware of the nature of the film and the demands of their respective roles, adding that there was never any confusion about the specific parts they were meant to play. Standing by his approach, he pointed out that what matters for a heroine is having strong, meaningful scenes, not simply a higher dialogue count.

Ahmed Khan’s Welcome To The Jungle plot

‘Welcome to the Jungle’ stars Akshay Kumar and tells the story of a corrupt businessman looking to launder black money. His idea is to fund a big film that is designed to flop. To make sure of this, he hires the worst crew he can find, along with a group of misfits. But things take a turn when they all get trapped in a dangerous jungle near the border.

Ahmed Khan’s star-studded cast

Directed by Ahmed Khan, this is the third film in the Welcome comedy franchise and boasts a star-studded ensemble cast, featuring Suniel Shetty, Disha Patani, Jacqueline Fernandez, Arshad Warsi, Jackie Shroff, Paresh Rawal, Raveena Tandon, Lara Dutta, Farida Jalal, Johny Lever, Shreyas Talpade, Tusshar Kapoor, Rajpal Yadav, Krushna Abhishek, Kiku Sharda, Daler Mehndi, Zakir Hussain, Urvashi Rautela, the late Pankaj Dheer, Sudesh Berry, and Bhagya Bhanushali, among others.
