NEW DELHI: The Delhi high court on Tuesday ordered the restoration of the Cockroach Janta Party’s X account, setting aside the Centre’s blocking order. The court said the Centre’s primary concern related to the NEET examination was no longer relevant and, therefore, the order directing that the X handle be withheld stood revoked.Launched in May, the internet-based movement quickly went viral through memes and commentary on unemployment, education policy and alleged examination paper leaks. The original X handle was withheld on May 21, after which the group resurfaced under the handle “Cockroach is Back”.This came as the CJP protest at Jantar Mantar demanding the resignation of Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over alleged examination irregularities entered its eighteenth day on Monday. Activist Sonam Wangchuk also completed the ninth day of his indefinite hunger strike, with doctors confirming he has lost 6.9 kg since beginning the fast.According to a medical bulletin, Wangchuk’s blood pressure was 107/67 mm Hg, while his blood glucose level stood at 72 mg/dL.In a post on X, CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke alleged that police had been instructed to photograph women volunteers at the protest site. “Why has the government asked the police to record women volunteers? Last night, some officials were caught taking photos of women volunteers. When confronted, they fled the spot,” he claimed.Dipke also joined a student protest in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Maharashtra, supporting demands for offline examinations.Meanwhile, members of the All India Students’ Association (AISA) continued their hunger strike at Jantar Mantar. The CJP has accused the government of failing to prevent repeated examination irregularities and paper leaks, including the controversy surrounding the NEET examination, which was cancelled and later re-conducted after allegations of a paper leak.
