Malayalam superstar Mohanlal was spotted watching the FIFA Men’s World Cup quarterfinal between Argentina and Switzerland in Kansas City, USA. The match, held on July 12 (IST), attracted thousands of football fans.Soon after his appearance at the stadium, videos and photographs began circulating across social media.

Several videos captured Mohanlal recording the pre-match atmosphere on his mobile phone while Argentina’s players warmed up on the pitch before kick-off. The actor was also seen interacting with supporters inside the stadium.Singer Muralikrishna later shared photographs from the venue on social media. The pictures featured Mohanlal alongside his father, businessman K. S. Balagopal, giving fans another glimpse of the actor’s visit to the World Cup quarterfinal. He wrote a note alongside that read, “So happy and proud that my father, KS Balagopal, had the honour and privilege of witnessing the FIFA World Cup live in the United States alongside Mohanlal Uncle and friends. He also reunited with director Jeethu Joseph for ‘Drishyam 3’.The actor is expected to collaborate with filmmaker Krishand, who is best known for directing ‘Masthishka Maranam’. Sharing details about the project during an interaction with Mathrubhumi, Maniyanpilla Raju revealed that the screenplay is currently being refined before production begins.He said, “With an actor of his stature, the screenplay has to be exceptionally strong. We are planning the film as a full-fledged commercial entertainer in the spirit of Chotta Mumbai. Niyog is writing the script, though he is currently occupied with Tiki Taka. The screenplay process has already begun, the first draft is ready, and it is now being revised.”The upcoming film is being developed as a complete commercial entertainer, with the makers aiming to recreate the fun and mass appeal associated with Chotta Mumbai.According to Maniyanpilla Raju, writer Niyog has already completed the first draft of the screenplay and is now working on revisions before the script is finalised.
