Vijay‘s much-awaited final film, ‘Jana Nayagan,’ is all set to arrive in theatres on July 24, and fans overseas have received exciting news. The film’s UK distributor confirmed that ‘Jana Nayagan’ will release in the United Kingdom with a 15 rating and without any cuts or modifications. The announcement promises that audiences will experience the film exactly as it was made. Interestingly, this is not the first time such a statement has been made. The distributor had also announced an uncut UK release back in January, when the film was originally scheduled to hit theatres during the Pongal season, before its release was delayed.

Uncut UK release confirmed again after months of delay

The latest confirmation comes after ‘Jana Nayagan’ finally completed its long certification process in India. Ahimsa Entertainment shared the update on social media, calling it “one last time” for fans to witness Vijay on the big screen in his final film. The post highlighted that the movie would be screened in UK cinemas “uncut” and “exactly as it was meant to be seen.” Fans quickly jumped on the announcement, many were excited to see the uncut version. Several also hoped that the same version would eventually be available on OTT after the theatrical run.

Indian version cleared after CBFC changes

Unlike the UK version, the Indian release has undergone several modifications before receiving an A certificate from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). The film, initially planned for a Pongal release earlier this year, faced a lengthy certification process that delayed its release by nearly seven months. According to reports, the CBFC made several audio-visual changes, including tweaking certain dialogues, names and references connected to Vijay’s political identity. Finally, the makers made the necessary changes and got the go-ahead for the theatrical release.
