Vice President JD Vance plans to meet with House Republicans Wednesday afternoon at the Capitol, according to two people granted anonymity to describe the plans ahead of a public announcement.
Vance postponed earlier plans to address a Tuesday morning House GOP conference meeting, instead traveling to Texas to tape an episode of the Joe Rogan podcast. His planned visit Wednesday comes as Republican leaders seek to rally support behind a new $80 billion party-line effort to fund the Pentagon, deliver aid to farmers and enact parts of the controversial elections bill pushed by President Donald Trump.
Rep. Lisa McClain of Michigan, the GOP Conference chair, is hosting the 3 p.m. members-only event where Vance is expected to make remarks.
